The 23rd Annual Continuing Challenge
HazMat Emergency Response Workshop
September 4-7, 2012, The Woodlake (formerly Radisson) Hotel, Sacramento, CA

Session submission deadline is Midnight, Pacific Time, Monday, February 27, 2012
We are currently seeking course proposals on new ideas and practical solutions to the toughest challenges facing today's hazmat response teams. This is an opportunity to present your innovative solutions, experiences, and basic hazmat training to 800 or more of your emergency response colleagues; increase your visibility as a presenter; and to contribute to the advancement of the hazardous materials emergency response community. Course proposals are now being accepted through Monday, February 27, 2012. (Class sizes range from 10~50 students.)
Workshop Focus and Course Times
The first day of the Workshop kicks-off with in-depth 8-hour classes. The remainder of the week focuses on two- and four-hour class offerings. This year's theme is "Making It Real - Book Smarts to Street Smarts." Some of the topics the Continuing Challenge Course Committee is particularly interested in include:
Theme specific instruction
Case studies and actual emergencies
Hazards of green technology
Cargo tank safety
Specialized seminars for 12-15 students, for example:
Hands-on-training with detectors, specialized equipment, and new computer aids
Tech and specialist level courses
Subject Tracks of 12-24 hours, for example:
Catastrophic incident response
First responder intensive training
Environmental health
Submitting a Course Proposal
Course proposals are ONLY accepted online. Lead and co-instructors are entitled to a registration fee waiver to attend the Workshop. Please see the complete guide for submitting course proposals and benefits of presenting at www.hazmat.org.
