Good points, Chuck. I agree with you very much re: one's inability to absorb the entire picture. Thanks for letting me know that Silverlight crashed with you, too. I upped the app to V.5 and although it didn't crash on me, it still wouldn't allow me to see the image.
And yes, I do like those graphs, too. Perhaps when CZ's V.2 emerges, I can take separate elements and make that poster. Good idea.

The Silverlight app crashed on me twice while scrolling around in Firefox, rather than IE. ChronoZoom did start back up with no hesitation, though. My impression is that it attempts to merge a bunch of distinct plots with a common time line. The print with key information is too small to read unless you zoom in so far you lose track of where you are. Thus, I think the individual graphs would be more useful when viewed on a computer screen. This concept might be more workable as a giant poster or mosaic floor.
