[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (June 4)



2011: Cloud cover and light rain ahead of a deep upper level low centered off the coast of central California allowed for well below average maximum temperatures over much of the San Joaquin Valley.

1999:
During a period starting on 6.3 and ending on this day, a waterspout was observed off Laguna Beach and a funnel cloud was observed one mile off San Clemente.
The mountains of San Diego County recorded the latest measurable snowfall of the season on record.
Mt. Laguna received 2-3" of new snow.
Palomar Mountain recorded 0.5" of new snow, the latest measurable snowfall on record for the season.
Big Bear Lake recorded 0.5" of new snow, the greatest amount on record for June.
This also occurred on 6.6.1993.

1967: Hail stripped leaves from grape vines and cotton crops in McFarland (Kern Co.).

1963: It was 22° in Big Bear Lake, the lowest temperature on record for June.
