[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (June 9)



1990: Remnants of Hurricane Boris produced rain and thunderstorms across San Diego County starting on this day and ending on 6.10.
1.41" fell at Mt. Laguna, 0.98" at Escondido, 0.87" at Fallbrook. 0.37" fell at San Diego in 30 minutes.

1985: Fresno had 11 consecutive days with triple digit highs starting on this date, the longest such stretch on record in June.

1979: Five consecutive days of high temperatures at 90° or higher at San Diego started on this day and ended on 6.13, peaking with 101° on 6.10.
Minimum temperatures were between 69° and 72°.

1954: Grant Grove (Sequoia-Kings Canyon N.P.) received 7.5" of snow.

1884: Flood waters once again approached the city of Yuma.
Railroad tracks west of town were seriously damaged, but the town was spared as the levees had been reconstructed after a flood 3 months prior.
