08/21/2013 | 0730 | CA-TNF American Fire: 15,738 acres, 63% Contained. Expected containment 9/1/2013. IMT 1 (Opliger). Fire growth continued to be significant in the south eastern portion of the fire due to fire position and canyon alignment. Firefighters continue to construct and secure direct line to the North Fork of the Middle Fork of American River. Indirect line is being constructed down Deadwood Ridge in support of potential burning operations. CA-PNF Hough Complex: 545 acres, 40% contained. Expected containment 8/24/2013. IMT 2 (Nunez). Complex consists of 19 fires, of which 14 are one acre or less. The Johnson, Ridge, and Heights fires still remain uncontained. Additional fires were discovered yesterday afternoon. Thunderstorm activity produced outflow winds hampering suppression efforts. All evacuation orders were lifted last night. CA-SRF Butler Fire: 18,361 acres, 30% contained. Expected containment 9/15/2013. NIMO (Quisenberry). Fire burned actively through the night with some spotting issues early in the operational period. Line construction continues on Cold Spring Road. Indirect fireline on Hoteling Ridge continues to be prepared for firing operations. Mop and patrol continues on secured firelines. CA-SRF Corral Complex: 8,646 acres, 0% contained. Expected containment 10/1/2013. Unified Command (Joseph/Mendes). IR flight from last night shows that the fire has become establised in the Tish Tang drainage. Fire has also become established in the Horse Linto drainage south of Trinity Mountain. Fire behavior remained stable with lack of thunderstorm activity in the fire area. Construction of indirect dozer lines continues in the southwest portion of the fire. Handline construction continues from Bear Hole to Bret Corral. Western portion of the fire is being scouted for fireline location construction. CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: 14,325 acres, 85% contained. Expected containment 8/21/2013. IMT 2 (Wakoski). Creeping and smoldering in heavy fuels was observed overnight. Mop up and patrol continues on secured handline. Fire continues to back into the east side of Jackass Gulch, consuming unburned interior fuels. The fire received light precipitation late yesterday. CA-BTU Swedes Fire: 2,462 acres, 90% contained. Expected containment 8/22/2013. CAL FIRE IMT 1 (Zombro). Creeping and smoldering fire behavior observed. Unburned interior islands continue to burn. Diminishing threat to PG&E power grid. CA-SHU Burney LCA: 190 acres, 80% contained. Expected containment 8/21/2013. IMT3 (Truax). Smoldering and creeping fire behavior. Mop up and suppression repair continues. CA-LNF Murken Fire: 86 acres, 80% contained. |
