Notes:		Late this afternoon in 2008 a Metrolink commuter train neglected to stop for a red signal and plowed into a Union Pacific freight train. The resulting mass casualty incident killed 25 people and 46 people were critically injured. All three engines of the freight train derailed along with seven of its cars while the Metrolink engine telescoped into the lead passenger car which in turn derailed and caught fire.
