Today is Wednesday, September 11, 2013

"This morning during the daily raising of our school's American flag, the Air Force JROTC cadets briskly raised the flag to full staff, then ceremoniously lowered it to have staff in Honor of Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.

In President Obama's proclamation today, he stated, "As we serve and remember, we reaffirm our ties to one another. On September 11, 2001, no matter where we came from, what God we prayed to, or what race or ethnicity we were, we were united as one American family. May the same be said of us today, and always."

Student Ambassadors from Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Wells' Family Group will meet for pizza on Wednesday, Sept 11 at lunch. Come to Room E203 and plan our activities for this year.

SENIORS: Sign ups for Homecoming Court begin today during lunch. Stop by the Activities Office and pick up an application. All forms are due at the MANDATORY meeting on Friday at 11:20 in the lecture hall. We will be taking pictures of you for the ballot (so look pretty). Seniors will vote during the advisory on September 18.

Attention all Juniors: There will be a class meeting Wednesday, during lunch in Mrs. Martin's room.

Attention all Sophomores: There will be a class meeting Wednesday during lunch in Mr. Brown's room, F111.

All students are welcome to attend class meetings.

Mu Alpha Theta, Math NHS applications are due to Ms. Conell no later than Friday September 12. Any students interested in becoming new members can pick up an application outside Ms. Conell's room, F103.  Any student who has completed either Honors Geometry and or Honors Algebra 2 with a 3.14 gpa in their math classes is welcome to join.  Please see any Math NHS officer or Ms. Conell if you have questions.

 ATHLETICS:

• CONGRATULATIONS Boys Soccer for defeating Eldorado yesterday 3-1!

Thursday:

• Girls Soccer plays Eldorado at the soccer complex at 4:30.
• The Volleyball Metro Tournament begins at Del Norte. We play at 4:15.

Friday:

• Football plays Sandia High School at Community Stadium at 7. Let's Black Out the stands
  again!
