Jan. 17: Sierra Madre Police Department will reopen the entrance to Santa Anita Canyon at 3 p.m.

Jan. 17: At 4 p.m., evacuations will be lifted for residents only, north of Sierra Madre Road from Yucca to Ranch, which includes the Mirador and Crystal Canyon communities.

Press Conference at held 11 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Goddard Middle School at 859 East Sierra Madre Blvd Glendor, CA.

Second press conference was held at 4 p.m.; announced 30% containment.

Evacuations: 3,600 people; about 1,600 allowed to return.

Resources: 33 hand crews, 140 engines, 9 helicopters, 1 dozer, 4 fixed-wing planes.
