Attention Hawks, please remember to spend your SOAR Cards. The SOAR Store is located in H-hall on Fridays in front of the DECA Snack Bar. When you buy from the SOAR Store you will still be entered into our drawings for great stuff. Our SOAR Store will not be open this week, however, it will be open next Friday. We look forward to seeing you come out to get some great Hawk gear!
Have you ever wanted to be in a group that helps the school and community? Then come join Wing Squad this Friday in H107 and start helping our the community!
Wright Club will begin designing Hawkword Moments, Volcano's literary magazine, soon. Please submit your poetry, short stories, drawings, paintings, graphic designs, etc. to H219 as soon as possible. Please limit 4 submissions per person. The deadline for submission is February 3rd, so it's time to get creative.
Student Ambassadors from the Wells/Jones Group: The meeting on Wed, January 22, will be at lunch in Mrs. Wells' room. This is a change from our usual meeting location. Come to plan for the new semester.
National Honor Society: Our next meeting will be Monday, Feb 3rd, at lunch in Mrs. Green's room. There will not be another meeting in January. If you need information about tutoring or to sign up for tutoring, contact one of the officers through the NHS email or the NHS Facebook page.
The Volcano Vista Bowling team finished up a very competitive tournament last weekend as 60 teams across the 4 divisions took part in the regular season tournament. The Novice division team paced by Kyleigh Moya, Erin Maestas, Joey Wright, Alec Gomez and Sam Elliott worked their way to a third place finish. The three rookie teams just missed the podium with a 4th, 5th and 6th place finish. Coach Hampel wants to remind all members of the bowling team that Tuesday practice will be the team single championships. Coach is hoping everyone will make an effort to be there.
ATHLETICS:
Track and field will begin official practices on February 10th this year. Please get all your paperwork turned into Coach Schrader or Coach Gilmore before that date. Preseason practice for distance runners is M/W/F after school and weight training for the girls team will be T/TH starting at 3:30. See Coach Schrader for more details.
G. Basketball They play at Mayfield on Friday and at Las Cruces on Saturday.

Swim: Saturday Boys Metro Championships at West Mesa Aquatic Center.
Wrestling: will be in the Joe Vivian Tournament at Cibola today and tomorrow.
