Congratulations to Hailey Nez who won an Honorable Mention Award for drawing at this year's New Mexico Scholastic Art Competition.
The VVHS ART CLUB and National Art Honor Society will meet on Friday at lunch in G113. New members are welcome to join us.
WING SQUAD: There will be a Wing Squad meeting today at lunch in D107. All students are welcome.
WINTERBALL is on the 30th of this month. Tickets will go on sale January 21st for $15. The ticket price will increase to $20.00 on Monday, January 25, 2016. Buy early.
SENIORS: There will be a senior class meeting today at lunch to discuss Winterball. Please be on time in Mrs. Valdez's room, D215.
LITERARY MAGAZINE: It is that time of a year again students. The Creative Writing Class is producing the Literary Magazine, and need your submissions. Submit poems, short stories, and original artwork. Stop by H217 to pick up a submission form and guidelines. Submission deadline is February 8th.
THE HIP-HOP HAWKS are still welcoming new talent into the group. If you like to dance and enjoy hip-hop, come join us after school today by the Aux gym and every Friday after school in H hall by the Performing Arts center. Please wear clothes you can dance in! For more info, see Coach Suman
THE VVHS ART CLUB is seeking for artwork submissions to be shown at Open Mic Night on Friday. This is open to all students in the school and all art media and styles including Photography, Ceramics, Computer Graphics, Drawing, and Painting. Bring your art to Ms. Kaser in room G113 anytime this week.
Attention students and staff, the fall semester grand prize drawing for SOAR CARDS will happen at this Friday's assembly. Get all your tickets turned in to any of the academy offices or library by Thursday at lunch. There will be three winners that will win IPODs.
OPEN MIC NIGHT: It's that time again - Open Mic Night is back! This Friday, January 15 Open Mic Night will be from 6 - 9 in the Black Box. All VVHS students are invited to perform and attend. Sign Up is outside H219 through Thursday. Entrance is only $5.00 or $1.00 for performers. See you Friday night for the best Open Mic in Albuquerque!

ATHLETICS
WRESTLING has a match at Rio Rancho tonight at 7. They will also be in the Joe Vivian Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Albuquerque High.
SWIMMING has the Boys Metro meet on Saturday at West Mesa Pool at 8:30.
GIRLS BASKETBALL will play Carlsbad in the Ring of Fire on Friday night at 5:30.They play Hobbs on Saturday at 1
BOYS BASKETBALL will play Carlsbad in the Ring of Fire on Friday night at 7.They play Hobbs on Saturday at 2:30
