this year also on the subject of the amazing number of posts on this group
during fire season.
Since I've been in this group, I've found that we can see a few hundred
messages a day when the "woods" explode. Many of us are also in other
groups, some fire/disaster-related. "Just can't handle it!"
There are two paths to a solution (other than leaving the group):
1. Change your group settings:
a) Do digest
b) Use different email addresses for different groups.

2. Change the way you do email (as far as the groups are concerned):
a) Choose your email provider and client for optimum results.
b) Use filters or rules to automatically sort your incoming messages.
See the Files section for Controlling your Incoming Mail.
It is not at all necessary for you to choose between being overwhelmed with
incoming messages or dropping out of the group.
