The first videos are surfacing on KCAL9. Oddly, it zig-zagged back and forth as is slowly went down. Also seemed much slower than the average meteor.

Hey Jason. I was out on my porch and saw this thing (looked like a meteor) from Big Bear City. It was moving pretty slow so I assume it was a LONG ways away.
Scanner traffic has indicated a wide area of reports from Joshua Tree to Escondido. Some reporting a plane, others reporting aliens, the usual.
It was definitely a meteor from my vantage point.
What was really weird is that we have had thunderstorms up here in Big Bear this evening and I saw this thing about 15 seconds after a large flash from a lightning strike.
Was kinda weird. Highly dou bt it made landfall anywhere on Earth. As most do, they burn up and that's what gives the cool show.

Subject: [californiadisasters] strange things in the sky
News ha s been reporting a large amount of people seeing something fall out of the sky near the Riverside/Inland Empire area. This took place around 7:40 pm. Sounds like a meteor of some sorts.
More to come I'm sure.
