RE: [Geology2] A sleeping super-volcano in Germany is showing worrying signs of waking up



Yup.  State law says that ONLY the attendant may pump fuel into a vehicle, except commercial truck and motorcycles.  They’ll (attendant AND station) be FINED if you pump your own fuel and JUMP quick if you move to pump it.  You have to ask for them to top off the tank.  It isn’t enforced at truck stops, where I fuel up my pick up (cheaper and better trailer access).  There is no additional charge.

 

I’ve already asked, no one knows WHY the law is there, but the rate they move to fill your tank tells me that the fine must be a biggie.

It's illegal to pump your own fuel in Oregon ? For heaven's sakes, why? Doesn't it add to the price? I don't even know of any places here in Houston where u don't pump your own gas/diesel. Allison
