Southern California Interagency Team #1 took transfer of command of the

Deluz Fire at 1400hrs today from Camp Pendleton Fire. Crews will continue

to build line in the steep rugged areas of the fire and improve other previously completed lines.

Fire burned dirty along riparian areas and this continues to re-burn with low to moderate intensity.

Control continues to be an issue due to current weather,

for Central and South California due to high winds, very warm temperatures,

low relative humidities and very dry fuel conditions. Fuels are very receptive to ignition.

A moderate strength Santa Ana wind event now appears likely for

 late Thursday night through Sunday. Northeast to east winds

 sustained 25 to 40 mph with local gusts as high as 65 mph

 through and below canyons and passes. Winds will peak Friday

 night and Saturday then diminish Saturday night and Sunday

 morning turning onshore by Sunday afternoon.

Blowing dust advisory in effect from 5 am to 11 PM PDT Friday...
The National Weather Service has issued a blowing dust advisory... which is in effect from 5 am to 11 PM PDT Friday for the south end of the San Joaquin Valley and the Kern County mountains.Winds: east 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible. Visibility: reduced to below a quarter mile. Timing: wind will increase early Friday morning and will produce areas of blowing dust through Friday evening.
Locations include: Bakersfield, Arvin Taft... Lebec, Tehachapi and Lake Isabella including portions of Interstate 5 and state highways 99,58 and 178.

Fire Weather planning forecast for extreme Southwestern California
The National Weather Service San Diego CA issued a fire weather watch / warning issued from 0200 am Friday morning through 2000 hrs. Sunday evening for most of Orange County, Southwest San Bernardino County, all of western Riverside County and a fire weather watch / warning  in effect from 1100 hrs Friday morning through 1400 hrs Monday afternoon for most of San Diego county.

Weather forecast calls for moderate offshore winds of 20-30 mph with gusts over 50 mph will occur Friday and Saturday across much of Southern CA.  Temperatures will be in the 90s and minimum RH will drop into the single digits Friday into the weekend in the windy areas.
