[Volcano_Vista_HS] VVHS-Parent Help Request from Counselor

VVHS Parents,

I am forwarding an e-mail from Rhonda Sandy, the VVHS Health Academy Counselor who is organizing test administration next week.  You must have current **background check status to help.  Please contact Ms. Sandy directly at Rhonda.Sandy@aps.edu with questions or to let her know your availability. (Moderator's Note:  she could also use help from 8:50 to 11:00 if that works better for your schedule)

We are in need of some help for Wednesday, October 16^th from 7:00 am until about 12 pm. We have 642 sophomores taking the PLAN that morning and 215 juniors taking the PSAT. I am thinking we need about 20 volunteers (or as many as we can get) to help proctor and also keep an eye on the students not taking the exam (they will be in the library). They have to be cleared of course and also cannot proctor if they have a student taking either exam. For example, my daughter is a 10^th grader so I won't be touching the PLAN but am administering the PSAT.

**For those who do not have a current background check, here is the information from APS about their new online option:

[Albuquerque, N.M.] – APS wants you! And now it's easier than ever to become a volunteer with the Albuquerque Public Schools thanks to a new online application process. Simply go to www.aps.edu/volunteer-with-aps , fill out the application and pay the $12 processing fee (credit and debit cards accepted). Those who pass the background check will be able to start volunteering at APS schools within 10 business days.
