Many of California's elite Urban Search & Rescue teams and members have responded across the nation to catastrophic events such as, New York City for the 9-11 attacks, the Gulf Coast for Hurricane's Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike, Mudslides, Floods, and Terrorist attacks.

The US&R teams are comprised of men and women who are highly trained to conduct search and rescue operations in the most extreme conditions.

The agencies participating in this exercise will be form The Los Angeles Fire Dept., Santa Monica Fire Dept., Santa Fe Springs Fire Dept. and the Beverly Hills Fire Dept.

These specialized firefighters along with hazardous materials squads and K-9 teams will be working in several simulated disaster scenarios at the LAFD US&R Training Center located at Fire Station 88 in Sherman Oaks, Ca.

Your California firefighters constantly prepare so they are ready for a catastrophe. Are you prepared?
