LUNCH LINES change, starting Tuesday-- If you normally get your lunch from A-hall or F-hall lunch lines, please go to the E-hall to get your lunch starting Tuesday. This starts Tuesday.
Congratulations to the Volcano Vista Mock Trial-ers! 26 teams from around New Mexico competed at the regional tournament last weekend for eight available slots at the state tournament. Three of those teams represented Volcano Vista, and all three are going to state! Volcano's black team placed eighth; our white team placed sixth, and the platinum team placed second. An individual, Outstanding Witness Honors were earned by first-year white-team competitor Tayanna "t-rex" Hernandez. Outstanding Attorney awards were awarded to black-team representative Jacob "pancakes" Pankratz, along with platinum's Matt "the godfather" Andreoni. Congratulations, once again, to these three teams along with those three individuals, and good luck at state!
A special congratulation goes out to our amazing DECA members. This year Volcano Vista DECA had 32 students medal at our State Competition. In addition, the entire chapter was recognized by National DECA for their outstanding school and community outreach. When you see them in the hallway or your classes, please congratulate the following 32 students who qualified to represent the Hawks at Nationals:

Congratulations once again Volcano Vista DECA for representing us well!
This week is SPREAD THE WORD TO END THE WORD WEEK. Every day we use language. Are you aware that some of the language you use regularly can be hurtful towards others? This week Best Buddies is asking students to come by and make pledges to stop using the word "retard". Come by the gym to make your pledge in helping make the world a more respectful place! The basketball tournament will take place during lunch this week in the main gym.
WINGSQUAD is collecting new or used Children's Books for the 14th Annual Children's Book Drive. Books can be dropped off in special wrapped boxes located in any Academy office or Ms. Duran's room H107 until March 24th. Please donate books; they go to kids right here in Albuquerque.
SENIORS: If you haven't ordered your class picture yet, they will be here at lunch today to take orders.
All Yoga students who signed up for the Hot Yoga trip next week; please make sure you have picked up your Hawk absence and permission form from either Coach Nord OR Mrs. Suman today so you have time to get everything filled out and signed. You must have this done in order to attend field trip on Wednesday!
