TOPAZ LAKE... * UNTIL 1000 AM PDT FRIDAY PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... VERY WARM TEMPERATURES ARE CAUSING EXCESSIVE SNOWMELT RUNOFF... RESULTING IN FLOODING ON SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS IN MONO COUNTY ALONG AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 395. &&
Instruction:
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED. FLOWS ARE ALREADY DANGEROUSLY HIGH AT CAMPGROUNDS NEAR AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 395 AND ARE EXPECTED TO RISE FURTHER THIS WEEK. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT AS THE HIGHEST FLOWS WILL BE IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY TO MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS AND CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS. CAMPERS AND HIKERS SHOULD NOT TRY TO CROSS FAST FLOWING WATERS. TO REPORT FLOODING...
