- Any senior interested in signing up for Homecoming Court you may pick up your application in activities at lunch. Applications are due at lunch on Friday at the Mandatory meeting in the lecture hall.
- Attention all students: the locker list will be purged this afternoon. If you want to move to another locker stop by at lunch on Wednesday and we will move you. Be sure to have your student ID with you.
- Interested in attending one of the Service Academies or college ROTC programs? U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich is hosting a Service Academy Night at Highland High School on Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 pm.
- Any student interested in applying for the Martin Luther King Scholarship stop by your counseling office to obtain more information.
- If you are planning on purchasing a yearbook this year the price will be going up this weekend. Books are $60 and may be purchased online or in the activities office during lunch this week. Stop by and pick up your order form now.
- Operation Smile will be holding its first meeting of the year today at lunch, in Ms. Bullard's room, A101. Grab your lunch and come to the meeting to see how you can make a difference in the life of a child!
- The Drama department will be holding interviews for crew heads for this November's production of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Interviews will be conducted in room J122 Thursday September 1st and Friday September 2nd. We are looking for people interested in being Stage Managers, Lighting Heads, Deck Crew, and Properties Manager. If you are interested in being a crew member, announcements will be coming soon.
- Chess Club will hold its first meeting of the year this Thursday, September 1st, after school in F-114. If you're interested please attend or see Mr. Christensen in F-114.
- Are you looking for a challenge? Or a unique outlet for your intelligence and creativity? Consider Academic Decathlon. Academic Decathlon is having an informational meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, at lunch in E113. Come learn about everything Academic Decathlon has to offer. Everyone is welcome.

- Students! We will be on a short assembly schedule for advisory this Wednesday, August 31st. You will get a new schedule from your 4th period teacher today (Tuesday) with your advisory assignment. If you have an open 1st period be sure to get to school early on Wednesday. Advisory starts at 9:08 AM.

YES I'm talking about YOU! You're a pretty bright kid! You don't follow the crowd; you come up with your own opinions! You want an extra-curricular activity which allows you:

Volcano Vista has one of the state's most successful mock trial programs, and we're looking for new talent!
Mock trial is all about hard work in preparation, using your smarts, thinking on your feet, working with a great group of kids, and being successful!
The year's first organizational meeting is this Friday, September 2, at 2:40 in F110 (Mr. Goodfellow's room). If you think there is any chance at all you might be interested, SHOW UP!
Do Mr. Goodfellow a favor, and stop by his room to let him know you'll be coming by. That's F110; come by before the meeting, but the meeting is on Friday at 2:40!

Athletics:
- Anyone that is interested in wrestling there will be practice at 3:00 pm on the first of September in the wrestling room!!!
- Baseball: Reminder there is a fall league baseball tryout for any freshmen or students new to our school interested in playing. The tryout will be held this Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45-4:30.
