2013: A cold winter storm dropped over a foot of snow at higher elevations in the San Bernardino
Mountains on 2/7 and on this day.
10"-12" was reported from Lake Arrowhead and Running Springs, and up to 10" in the Laguna Mountains.
Snow accumulated as low as 2000 feet elevation, including 1"-3" of snow in
Yucaipa and Beaumont.

2009:
Dense fog reduced the visibility to less than 1/2 mile in portions of Yuma County, AZ.
After some locally heavy rainfall on Saturday, clearing skies resulted in patchy fog near Tacna and Dateland, AZ.

2002:
Santa Ana winds started on this day and ended on 2.10.
A gust of 80 mph was measured at Descanso, 78 mph at Fremont Canyon and 76 mph in San Bernardino.
A fire developed in the Fallbrook area.

2001: Over a week of heavy snow that started on 2.6 and ended on 2.14 continued on this day.
The snowfall was called "most in a decade."
60" fell at Blue Jay and Mountain High, 24" at Snow Summit, and 5"-12" at Apple Valley.
The roof of an ice rink caved in at Blue Jay.

1998: El Niño got into gear.
Heavy rain that started on 2.6 and ended on 2.9 brought up to 3" of rainfall to Southern California.
Catastrophic and widespread flooding resulted, especially in Newport Beach and Irvine.
Lots of property damage occurred in southern Orange County.
Evacuations and swift water rescues were needed.
Landslides, mud slides, and sink holes occurred.
Roads, bridges, and railroads were damaged.

1993: 1.29" of precipitation fell in Las Vegas, NV, an all-time February daily record.

1993:
Heavy rain that started on 2.7 and ended on 2.10 brought 1"-5" of rainfall near the coast, up to 10" of precipitation to the mountains and 0.5"-1.5" in the deserts.
8"-18" of snow fell in the mountains.
Widespread flooding occurred.
On this day a tornado hit Brea causing property damage.

1992: A series of many intense storms across SoCal started on 2.5 and ended on 2.16.
The storms brought a total of 20"+ inches of precipitation to the mountains and 8"-16"+ inches to lower elevations.
Two were killed in an avalanche at Mt. Baldy.
Flash flooding, mud slides, and road closures also occurred.

1989: Snow fell across the region from the beaches in LA to the desert in Palm Springs.
It started on 2.7 and ended on 2.9.
15" fell in the mountains and 3" fell at Palmdale.
Major road closures and numerous traffic accidents resulted.

1989: San Francisco had a high of only 42° F.

1989: High of just 41° F in Fresno, coldest ever in February.
In the Kern County Deserts, accumulating snow accompanied this severe cold wave with 5.8" measured at China Lake NAS, 4" at Inyokern and 3" at Mojave and Randsburg.

1989: Very cold weather continued across the region.
Low temperatures reported were -17° F at Carson City, NV, -15° F at Tahoe City, and -12° F at Reno, NV.

1986: A snowstorm on this day and on 2.9 brought 8" to Cuyamaca, 7" at Mt. Laguna and 4" at Julian.

1985: 31" of snow fell at Tahoe City.

1980: Bakersfield received measurable precipitation on 11 consecutive days, starting today.
This is the longest such streak on record here.

1978: Heavy rain that began on this day ended on 2.10.
16.4" fell at Lytle Creek, 13.64" at Lake Arrowhead, 11.97" in Wrightwood, 11.15" in Devore, 10.4" at Santiago Peak, 8.5" in Crestline, 5" in Ontario, 4.79" in Big Bear Lake, and 3.83" in Santa Ana.
20 were killed all over Southern California.
Widespread flooding, flash flooding, and mud slides resulted, and numerous homes washed away.

1976: During a heavy rainstorm, 2.1" of rain was recorded in just five minutes at Haines Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Strong storm winds hit 64 mph at Palmdale.

1960: Strong winds caused damage in the Carson Valley (NV) and Lake Tahoe areas.

1932: 2.3" of rain fell in Palm Springs, the greatest daily amount on record for February.

1893: 22" of snow fell at Virginia City, NV.
