Pacific Gas & Electric Co. has taken out full-page advertisements in 24 California daily newspapers to apologize for last year's deadly pipeline explosion.
The ads, which began running on Thursday, also will be featured in 21 weekly newspapers in Northern California and the Central Valley.
Spokesman Brian Swanson says the company's top leadership wanted to say how deeply sorry PG&E is for the Sept. 9 explosion in San Bruno, which killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes.
