[Volcano_Vista_HS] VVHS Announcements--Thursday, March 8, 2012 (day late)



Students with Blue parking stickers you should be parking in the South lot by the baseball field. If you park in the North lot or in the visitor lot you will be tagged. Cars are tagged twice and booted on the third violation. It will cost you $50.00 to have the boot removed.

Students with yellow parking stickers you should be parking in the North lot. If there are no spaces available you will have to park in the South lot. Do not park along the curb.

Due to overwhelming demand, the International Filmfest will now be distributing numbered tickets for the afterschool movies. Interested students MUST pick up a number at the Activities office DURING LUNCH. That numbered ticket will be your entrance to the movie after school. Again, you MUST pick up your number or you will not be admitted to the movie after school today. As usual, you will receive a receipt to show your teacher at the end of the movie.

Seniors: Rubrics from Senior Projects may be picked up Wed, Thurs or Friday this week. After Friday, they will be destroyed. If your last name begins with the letters A, B or C, pick up your rubrics in H208. For last names beginning with letter D through letter K, pick up rubrics in H209. For last names beginning with letter L through letter O, pick up rubrics in F212. For last names beginning with letter P through Z, pick up rubrics in E203. Rubrics may be picked up before school or lunch. Do not interrupt classes.

Any junior that is interested in attending the New Mexico Boy's State or Girl's State session this summer please stop by the activities office for more information.

Uncle Cliffs is hiring for the summer. If you would like more information stop by the activities office at lunch to pick up an application.

Athletics:

  • ATTENTION ALL BOYS INTERESTED IN PLAYING SOCCER NEXT YEAR, THERE WILL BE AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21 IN ROOM A109 AT LUNCH.
  • Both softball teams beat Valley March 6. The JV won 35 to 0. Yes, I said,35 to 0. The Varsity won 12 to 0. Kelsey Stevens pitched a perfect game, no hits, no runs, no one on base. Taylor Sargent hit her second home run. Congratulations to both teams.

  • Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team for defeating the Cibola Cougars. They will beplaying the Clovis Wildcats today at 4:45 at the Santa Ana Star Center. Tickets are $5.00. (Moderator's Note: They BEAT #2 Clovis 61-49  and will be playing Eldorado for the state championship on Saturday in the PIT. Game time is 4:00 PM).
  • Baseball has a game today at Valley today at 3:30 (Moderator's Note: They beat Valley 5-1).

(Yesterday's) Today's movie in the Lecture Hall at 2:30 is a French documentary about the competition for the highest honor for French chefs. If you like to watch food competitions, you'll enjoy "Kings of Pastry".

Megan Moore is going to tell us our menu in French.
