Homecoming Court :Seniors it is time to sign up for Homecoming Court. Pick up your application during lunch today. You must have a 2.0 GPA and participate in a minimum of two (2) VVHS activities. Applications are due on or before Friday. There will be a mandatory meeting of all candidates on Friday at lunch in the lecture hall. You will have your picture taken at this time for the ballot.
Fashion Club: Do you enjoy wearing clothes? Do you want to make cool stuff? Bring your love of fashion and creative minds to Fashion Club in Ms. Orta's room, F104. Meetings have been moved to Thursdays at lunch. New members are always welcome and there will be cookies!
There will be a BSU meeting today during lunch in H206. Please be on time.
Talent show: : The Talent show scheduled for the 25th has been cancelled due to lack of interest. We will reschedule in the spring.
Open Mic Night is this Friday from 6 - 9 in the Black Box. Tickets are $3 or $1 for performers. You can purchase tickets at lunch today and tomorrow or at the door. Performers may sign up outside of H219 or at lunch Thursday. Remember that sign up ends Thursday after lunch
Literary Magazine With Free Open Mic Night Tickets. Copies of the award winning 2014 Hawkword Moments literary magazine will be on sale at lunch for $5.00. When you purchase your copy you will also receive a free ticket to the September 19 Open Mic Night.
COUNSELING
Attention eCADEMY Students: If you have Mrs. Wells for an eCADEMY English class you must stop by her room in A202 sometime this week during your lunch or after school. She has important information for you.
Juniors may sign-up to take the PSAT thru Sept. 24. The cost is $14. The test will be given on October 15, 2014 from 7:30 to 11 in the Lecture Hall. This is the one chance to qualify for National Merit. See Mrs. Baca-dory in E224 to sign-up.
ATHLETICS
VOLLEYBALL will have their first home game on Thursday at 6:30 against Hope. Let's Black Out the gym. They will also play at Onate on Saturday at 12:30.
BOYS SOCCER: plays Las Cruces on Friday at 4:30 and Mayfield at 1 on Saturday.
GIRLS SOCCER: plays Las Cruces on Friday at 4:30 and Mayfield at 11 on Saturday.
XC: will run in the Cleveland Invite on Saturday
BIRD BOWL: Football will play the Eldorado Eagles on Saturday at 1pm at Wilson Stadium. Eldorado is known for filling the stadium with their students but they have never seen anything like Volcano Pride. Lets fill the stadium with Hawks and show the East side how it's really done!
