[californiadisasters] Kit's "King Fire" Update For September 25, 2014

"Mother nature has taken over on the "King Fire" for now.   On Thursday ( 9-25) much cooler temps and even rain fell on the fire, in fact so much rain fell in some areas that flash flood advisories were issued.  Reports of many areas getting almost an inch of rain an rain continuing throughout the day from 10:00 to 14:30. Fire crews are taking advantage of this and are building containment lines were possible. Expect the containment total to jump over the next day or so. Fire activity should remain low as more rain is forecast over the next 48 hours, strong winds are also forecast. Fire has burned 95,350 acres and is now 43% contained.  There are still many areas within the  steep canyons were the fire is active and inaccessible that will  again become active after the storm passes and warmer temps and lower humidity return.  It all depends on how much rain is put down over the next couple of days."
