[californiadisasters] Kit's "King Fire" Update For September 23, 2014

"Fire has burned 89,575 acres with containment rising today to about 35%. Fire activity is reported to be active through the night on Tuesday (9-23) as winds are expected to continue through the night and into Wednesday. The most active area of the fire was on the West in the Rubicon River canyon area. Fire did run and spot for a time but reports say that crews did a good job of picking up those spots.  Burnout operations were also scheduled today on the West flank of the fire. Most of the containment area is on the South side of the fire. Over 67 structures have now been reported destroyed. Heavy smoke continues to impede Tanker operations, You can set your watch by the smoke arriving in the Truckee Meadows (Reno). The last two days at about 14:30 the bid ribbon of smoke that is West of town begins too turn towards the East enveloping the valley in heavy smoke within about 30-40 minutes."
