Highlights:

A homemade explosive device was found today. It was inert and was disposed of by the police.
A total of 277 National Guardsmen are on mission and 400 State Troopers other allied law enforcement officers including officers from Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, Prince George's, and Harford counties are currently supporting the Baltimore Police Department.
The Maryland Insurance Administration is providing information to property owners and business owners whose property was damaged.
The Governor's Office of Community Initiatives organized 2,600 volunteers who volunteered for cleaning up Pennsylvania Avenue.
The Governor has established the Maryland Unites website as a way to provide information and encourage the public to lend a helping hand to the Baltimore community in the aftermath of rioting and looting.
Because of the closure of the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR) offices yesterday, many food stamp and cash assistance recipients were unable to come in and recertify their eligibility for benefits. To ensure that no one goes hungry, DHR is extending their benefits by one month.
