2000: A mountain wave created gusty winds in the Kern County deserts, with a 78 mph gust logged at Edwards AFB.

1988: Heavy rain began on 4.19 and ended on 4.23.
4.15" of rain fell in 24 hours at Mt. Wilson.
Flooding, mud slides and numerous traffic accidents occurred around LA.
26 were injured in a major collision. Three straight
Dodgers baseball games were rained out.
Only 12 rainouts had occurred in the previous 26 years.

1987: A rare springtime weak Santa Ana event brought 90° F+ temperatures to the region on 4.21 and on this day.
It was 97° F in El Cajon, 95° F in Spring Valley, 94° F in Santee, 93° F at SDSU, Miramar, La Mesa, LA and Borrego Springs.
It was 91° F in Poway, Escondido and Fallbrook, and 87° F in San Diego.
Numerous small brush fires erupted in the San Diego valleys.

1970: Saint Helena had a low temperature of 31° F. 

1932: Riverside recorded 32° F, the latest freezing temperature of the season.

1931: 12" of snow fell at Tahoe City.

1908:
It snowed 0.6" in Santa Ana on 4.21 and on this day, the greatest (and latest) snowfall on record.

1896: The morning low temperature at Reno was 16° F.
