[californiadisasters] Re: The Dying Sea - What will California sacrifice to survive the drought?



Lengthy but well worth reading. 

I recall for years the California authorities were very proud of the "fastest growing state in the US" status.

I begin to wonder if part of the roblem is simply that California's growth has exceeded the ability of natural resources to sustain the population.

Not sure what the solution will be.  Many talk about seawater desalinization as a solution but desalinization would be hugely energy intensive, fossil fuels would add to atmospheric gas issues, solar on the needed scale would create environmental issues, many are concerned about the risks of nuclear power in an area with a history of earthquakes. 

No one seems to have come up with an answer.
