[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (July 14)

2011: An unseasonably strong trough of low pressure was centered off the coast of California; this brought a push of cool marine air into the San Joaquin Valley that allowed temperatures to cool to around 10° F-15° F below normal.
Significant cooling occurred elsewhere throughout the central California interior.

1972: San Jose had a high temperature of 108
° F.

1972: The high temperature at both Reno, NV, and Susanville was 103° F.

1972: A cooperative weather observer in the Sunrise Manor neighborhood of Las Vegas records a high temperature of 121° F.

1967: Heavy thunderstorms struck the high desert for the second day in a row.
Major highways were flooded and washed out west of Victorville.

1966: Bakersfield set a record low maximum of 90° F.
This is the only day of the entire year where Bakersfield has always had a high temperature of at least 90° F in every year since records started in 1893.

1946: Paso Robles set an all-time overnight low for July of 40° F.

1886: LA recorded its greatest 24-hour rainfall amount for July at 0.24".
