In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Spanish Club will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish today. Please rise for the Pledge and feel free to join us in English or Spanish.
Today is Cowboys vs Aliens and Carbo Loading Day. The Lava Pit and the DECA store will be selling Dion's pizza, old school Popeyes, Monsters, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc
Thursday is Dress Up Day. The Coronation Assembly begins at 8:45. 6th period ends at 12:28. The buses will run on their regular schedule- pick-up is still at 12:49. The Football game is at 7pm against Atrisco Heritage at Community Stadium.
Friday is Cosmic Color or Tie Dye day. Open Mic is at 6pm in the Black Box. Tickets are $5.00
Saturday is the Dance. Be sure you have your ticket and ID when you arrive at the dance, which begins at 8pm and ends at 11pm.
HOMECOMING TICKETS: Tickets are on sale at lunch today for $25.00.
You must have your student ID to purchase a ticket. If you are bringing a guest that does not attend VVHS please have the guest permission form filled out. This form can be found at the activities office or online.
The Volcano Vista Drama Department presents Arthur Miller's The Crucible, a classic play about the Salem Witch Trials, on October 1, 2, and 3. Performances are at 7pm, with a matinee at 2pm on October 3. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and $1 for active Thespians.
Also in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Spanish Club will be hosting a variety on cultural activities on Tuesdays at lunch from September 15 to October 15. Next Tuesday, September 29, meet on the soccer field to play a short game of fútbol the most popular sport in the Spanish-Speaking world.
Computer Graphics Club is meeting today at Lunch in room E115. New Members are always welcome.
COUNSELING:
Students-Athletes who are interested in playing sports in college- there is an NCAA Eligibility workshop today September 23rd from 6:30- 8:00 at Cibola High School.
PSAT: Juniors if you want to take the PSAT sign up with Mr. Garcia in room E224 at lunch. This is your opportunity to qualify for The National Merit Scholarship Program. The cost is $15 and the last day to sign up is tomorrow. Test Day is October 14th.
ATHLETICS
BOYS SOCCER plays Cibola today at 3:30. They also play at Rio Rancho on Saturday at 10.
GIRLS SOCCER plays Rio Rancho at 11 on Saturday.
VOLLEYBALL plays at West Mesa at 6:30 on Friday.
XC has a meet on Friday at the Academy at 3:30.
Football: Hawks Football plays Atrisco Heritage on Thursday night at 7 at Community Stadium.
