YEARBOOK PICTURES: Underclassmen pictures will be taken on Monday August 29th. Teachers you will be receiving packets on Wednesday. Pictures will be taken through the following classes:
Freshmen through your Health/Impac class
Sophomores through World History
Juniors through US History
If you are not registered in one of the above classes please stop by the Activities Office and we will schedule a time for you.
PARKING PASSES are $35.00 and will be sold during lunch everyday and before school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Activities Office. Please be sure to have the form filled out and bring the correct documentation. Cars will be tagged with the orange stickers beginning today. Cars will be tagged 2 times and on the third time it will be booted. Removal of the boot is $50.00. It is cheaper to by the pass. HURRY!
LOCKERS: If you wish to move to a different locker come by the activities office today at lunch.
DODGEBALL: Attention all staff and students that signed up for dodgeball tournament at lunch. The schedule will be posted on the main gym door by the start of 3rd period. Please report to the main gym immediately at the start of lunch. If your team is not ready to play at their start time, they will be disqualified from the tournament.
NHS: ALL VVHS NHS members, the first mandatory meeting of the year will be today in E-214 at the start of lunch. Please do not be late.
WINGSQUAD: Wing Squad will have its first informational meeting this Thursday 8/25 in Ms. Corbitt's room H208 during lunch.
GSA Today is the second meeting of the GSA in F-125 during lunch. Anyone interested in attending is welcome. Volcano Vista's Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) is a club that works toward and promotes acceptance of all students in the school community regardless of gender identity and/or sexual orientation. As the name implies we are a group made up of students of ALL genders, and ALL sexual orientations, so everyone is welcome to attend. Our meetings are every Monday at lunch in conference room F125. FNHS: There will be a French Honor Society Meeting this Wednesday at lunch in E113. All members should plan to attend.
MILITARY SERVICE ACADEMY: For anyone interested in applying to a Military Service Academy or college ROTC, there is an informational meeting at the UNM Student Union Building at 6 pm on Tuesday, 23 August. Congressional Representatives will be there to answer any questions. Please see Major Campbell in B-154 for more information.
POWDER DANCE: Our fist annual powder dance will be on Friday evening at 7pm on the baseball field. The cost is $5 at the gate and you will receive a packet of colored powder. Wear a white t-shirt.
ATHLETICS
GOLF: Students who are interested in trying out for the Fall Golf team need to attend a meeting today in Coach Cota's classroom in A-216. You must attend the meeting if you want to tryout.
BOYS & GIRLS TEAMS will both play Albuquerque High at 6:45 this evening at the soccer complex.
Ticket prices at all APS Athletic events are $5 for adults and $3 for students with ID cards
