[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (March 21)
2011: A waterspout was observed from an airplane four miles northwest of San Diego.
2006: From the 20th to 21st of March, a system brought 12" of snow to Yosemite Valley and Huntington Lake and 15" to Giant Forest and Big Meadow.
1995: 22" of snow fell at Truckee.
1992: A series of storms that started on 3.20 and ended on 3.23 brought 1"-5" of rainfall and local flooding.
1991: It snowed 24" at Palomar Mountain, the second greatest daily snowfall on record (and the second greatest snowfall for March; 25" fell on 3.18.1991).
On this day 1.98" of rain fell in La Mesa, 0.81" fell at Lindbergh Field.
Mud slides, road washouts, and power outages were reported at Rincon Indian Reservation.
1980: A funnel cloud was observed south of San Diego.
1912: A heavy hail storm in San Diego put hail on the ground that remained there three hours.
