| Notes: | On this date at about this time in 1990 an arsonist (who has since been convicted of the crime in civil court) started a fire along Highway 154 near the top of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Strong Sundowner Winds drove this fire over 4,900 acres down into Santa Barbara where it burned 640 homes and killed one woman fleeing on foot for her life. | |
