SENIORS: T-shirts are still on sale in the activities office during lunch today for $10.00. This is your ticket into the picnic on Wednesday. There will be dinner provided and you will get your yearbooks that evening. If you ordered a large, XL or larger we have them.

 

Attention staff and students, during 5th period, administrators will be coming around to recognize students that received a 3.5 GPA or higher for the 5th 6 week grading period.  Congratulations all the students that achieved this accomplishment, which is close to 25% of the Volcano Vista Student body.  We encourage all students to strive for high academic performance in all of their classes.

 

Come to the Volcano Vista Art and Film Showcase on Friday the 24th in the black box and see amazing art work created by our very own artists and film makers. Festivities begin at 6 with an art awards presentation at 630. Then, at 7, sit back and enjoy horror movies created by our film students. Thank you for supporting the arts at VVHS.

 

Attention Safe School Ambassadors for Wells:  We will have a meeting in room A202 this Friday during lunch.  Please attend.  We will be discussing action logs and other important items.

 

April is Autism Awareness month. CLUB CUBED: Have you ever watched someone solve a Rubik's cube? Have you ever wondered how they do it? Well we have a club for you! Don't be square be cubed, its exponentially better! Join club cubed today!  Club cubed meets in room A-208 today at lunch.

 

There will be a Black Student Union Meeting on Thursday, April 23rd during lunch in Mrs. Vasquez' classroom, H-206.  We will be reviewing the program for the award's ceremony.   Please be in attendance.

 

Attention staff and students: There will be a campus clean up this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. All are welcome! Meet at the track.

 

Attention Wing Squad members: We will be having a meeting this Friday during lunch in H107. See you there!

 

SENIORS: Any senior wanting to tryout for the talent portion of the Honors Assembly, sign-ups are today thru Thursday during lunch in the activities office.

 

SENIORS: Check the fines list by the bookroom. Right now there are 3 lists: Cafeteria, Library and Bookroom. Also check the list for for students who have not turned in their Next Step Plan. Be sure you are cleared on all these lists before cap and gown distribution on May 12.

 

YEARBOOKS: Seniors may pick up their book during the senior picnic on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. Seniors may purchase books for $75.00 at this time. Seniors only.  Underclassmen may get their books at lunch on Thursday in B154, the ROTC room. Please have your ID available.

COUNSELING:

  • Seniors there is still time to apply for scholarships! Go visit the college and career center during lunch, in E224 and look at the scholarships available.

  • For Information on High School Summer Registration Please have your student meet with their school counselor to complete the pre-registration form which is your "Ticket" to get in line. Tuition must be paid IN FULL at time of registration. Registration and Tuition Payments will be in person at APS Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex, 6400 Uptown Blvd NE, 87110 (City Center).Registration dates are every Saturday in May 2015 and June 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th.  Summer School sites for 2015 are Cibola, Sandia, West Mesa and ECademy High Schools.  There will NOT be any summer school registration at the high school sites.

 

ATHLETICS

  • TENNIS: will be playing in the Metro Tournament today.            Congratulations to these girls tennis players for advancing at the Metro tournament at Albuquerque Academy: Shannon Sargent and Lauren McFather won in singles, and the doubles team of Miranda Sanchez and Jade Baca won their doubles match.  The girl's JV tennis tennis team also did well, finishing second in the consolation bracket at last weekend's league tournament at Academy. Members of the JV team are Reagan Robnett, Lexxus Salazar, Martina Rodriguez, and Martha Lara

  • BASEBALL: will play at home on Friday against Cleveland.

  • SOFTBALL: will play Thursday at Cleveland at 6pm.

  • TRACK: will be in the Harper Meet at the Academy on Saturday.
