[californiadisasters] Re: CHP Prevents Traffic Disaster: Surviving Idiots Complain

My final two cents worth:

Cent #1: The regional advantage that the parts of our nation that seasonally experience more extreme wintry weather used to enjoy has been significantly watered down over recent decades due to the propensity of Americans to move all over the damned place following work and school and family. Consequently, everybody gets sort of scattered all over hell and many folks now living in the Rust Belt for example did not come from there and have not been there for very long as they either moved from a more climatically-moderate part of the nation or they moved from another part of the world altogether that does not seasonally experience wintry weather.

Cent #2: Another article in the LA Times from a few days earlier talked about all the folks stranded along the Interstate-5 corridor during the closure. IMHO all of those folks who stayed in motels instead of taking two hours or less to drive over to the US101 corridor and go around the closure (if they were CA residents) should by law become registered idiots banned from any further reproduction or voting or driving for that matter as they failed the most basic of IQ tests for basic intelligence and personal initiative not to mention failing to know the geography of their own state and nor having a basic working knowledge of their own state's basic road system. Along with the freedoms we enjoy come responsibilities that come with them but too many folks seem to only care about their freedoms without having any sense of duty or honor or personal responsibility.

The CHP says the section of the roadway had to be closed Sunday because of dangerous conditions. But some travelers are not convinced.
