Tonight is the 310th anniversary of the last Great Quake on the Cascadia Subduction Zone stretching from Cape Mendocino to Vancouver Island and resulting Pacific Ocean Basin-wide tsunami event... for comparison think 2004 Andaman-Sumatra Quake and Indian Ocean Tsunami but right here on the West Coast and around the Pacific Rim.
Wikipedia has a good page on it with many great links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1700_Cascadia_earthquake
Some of the most interesting research on this event comes from the aboriginal legends and below are some great links on this great multi-disciplinary scientific "murder" investigation of a geological and hydrologic crime committed 310 years ago tonight.

An automatic anniversary notice will post here when the precise time of the earthquake arrives at around 9 PM.
