Volcano Vista's Academic Decathlon team competed Regional competition and took 3rd place overall and has qualified to compete in the State competition at the end of February. In addition to our team's accomplishments, each of our team members received individual medals as follows:

SENIORS:
We will be taking the group photo of the class of 2011 on Thursday morning at 6:45 AM in the gym. You must have your senior ID in order to get into the photo. If you have been reclassified please stop by the activities office and get you new senior ID.
WINTERBALL:
Winterball is February 5th in the gym from 8 to 11 PM. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday during lunch in the Activities Office for $20.00. You must have your student ID to purchase a ticket. If you are bringing a guest from another school please have the permission slip with you when you purchase the ticket.

ATTENTION ALL SLAM POETS! â€" are you interested in competing at this year’s State Slam Poetry Competition? There will be a meeting for all students interested in being a member of the Volcano Vista Eruptions, our school’s Slam Poetry Team, today, Monday, Jan. 24th, at lunch. The meeting will be in Ms. Valdez’s room A203. Any poet interested is encouraged to attend the meeting at lunch today.
National Honor Society: Our next meeting will be Monday, Jan 24th at lunch in Room E203. If you are interested in serving as an officer in NHS next year, this is the time to let Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Torres know. Also, we will be talking about the tutoring and community service projects as well as our Valentine's Day fundraiser. See you there.

ATHLETICS:
Softball Players: Just a reminder that practice will begin on Tuesday at 2:45 PM. See you on the field with your glove, cleats, and water.
Boys Varsity Basketball will play the Eldorado Eagles on Tuesday night at Eldorado High School.
