High temperatures expected over the Fourth of July weekend have prompted the closures of Wilderness Park and a stretch of Chantry Flats Road in Arcadia, police said Friday.
In order to prevent fireworks from entering the area during the hot, dry weather and causing a brush fire, Wilderness Park will be closed Sunday through Tuesday and Chantry Flats Road will close at 6 p.m. each day until Tuesday.
The road is a key entry point to the Angeles National Forest. It will reopen each day in the early morning, according to the Arcadia Police Department.
