09/03	2000	Slides Fire, CA-SQF-02990, Tulare County, vegetation fire, Slides Area, McNally Footprint 273 acres, 50% contained, very little movement expected.   Williams Fire, CA-ANF-004803, Los Angeles Co., vegetation fire, east of San Gabriel Reservoir 3,600 acres, 5% contained. Type 2 team IMT (Smith) assumed command at 1200 hours today. Inaccessible, steep, rugged terrain. Heavy fuels with critically low fuel moistures.  Hwy 39 closure in effect.  MAFFS and VLAT deployed.
09/03	1000	Williams Fire, CA-ANF-004803. 3,600 acres 5% contained, fire moving up into heavier fuels and steep terrain.  Type II IMT (Smith) to assume command today.
