I'm guessing they meant "miles", not "feet".

I saw that a few hours ago and the other post had this exact same confusing statement quoted below.

Why does't the ash fall all the way to sea level?

Is the ash six feet deep on top of the sea?

This is one huge volcano far above sea level itself.

Anyone?
