Winds are calm now and reporters are saying the whole thing is dying off. But I agree, if the winds come as predicted, it could be big trouble. The biggest thing so far has been embers drifting from large trees burning in the riverbed.

I was there until about 8:30. I walked along Grassy Trail Drive where
the fire had lapped up to the houses. One lady told me that all of her
palm trees had caught on fire - and they were on the street side of her
house, so the embers had blown over the house and into the palm trees.
The same thing happened to several of her neighbors from what I could
see. The fire crews were right there and were able to douse the flaming
palm trees. Fortunately the wind died down just as the flames reached
the backs of the houses. If and when the Santa Ana winds kick in, they
will blow the fire right into the houses.
