Yet another car fire has resulted in yet another escaped wildfire, this time on the El Dorado National Forest east of last year's King Fire and closer to 1992's 25,000-acre Cleveland Fire. Hwy 50 is closed in both directions and major resource orders are in place as this is a rolling crown fire in drought-stricken forest with structures in the area. This is the dangerous initial attack phase of this fire so stay safe out ya'here! Arriving units put this at 20 acres with a rapid rate of spread in heavy fuels with potential for 200 acres... which I say is optimistic. Voluntary evacs on both sides of Hwy. 50. Stay tuned for more updates.
