This fire began this afternoon as a result of an auto mishap on Hwy 128 near the dam at Lake Berryessa.
The fire rapidly spread primarily eastward and down into the western margins of the Sacramento Valley.
As of 11:30 p.m. tonight it has scorched a guesstimated 5,000 acres with minimal containment (5%).
This event is primarily wind-driven but helped along in some areas by slope and/or fuel factors. Structures have been lost and large-scale resource orders continue to be received and more submitted.
