Attention all freshmen, sophomores and juniors: You pictures are in. Stop by the Activities Office at lunch to pick up your picture order.

Congratulations to out Vanguard Band for their stellar performance this weekend at the NMSU Tournament of Bands competition. They defeated Cibola and band giant Highland, and others to get third place in class "A" competition. Be sure to congratulate any band students you see to day. They have put in a lot of hours this year and will representing VVHS again this Saturday at the ZIA Marching Fiesta at UNM this Saturday. Go get 'em band!""

Attention Students: " Rachel’s Challenge will be presenting their program to Volcano Vista High School on Wednesday, November 10 at a school wide assembly.  Rachel’s Challenge is a national program that motivates and challenges students and staff to positively treat others by being accepting and kind to all.  To maintain the positive climate of change that this presentation will give VVHS, a Friends of Rachel or FOR group is being formed.  This group will be trained after the assembly during 5th and part of 7th period on November 10.  If you would like to be part of Friends of Rachel group, please stop by the Activities office and pick up an application.  Applications are due by Friday, October 29.

We are having admissions visits from New Mexico State University and Fort Lewis College in Colorado.  Fort Lewis College will be here on Friday November 12th and NMSU will be here on Tuesday, November 16th.  If you would like to meet individually with a representative from either college see Mrs. Futey in room E224 to sign up.

The Junior Class will be selling delicious caramel apples after school outside in front of the A Building on Thursday and Friday for $2.50  Healthy fruit chips will also be sold. 

Athletics:

Congratulations to our boys soccer team for capturing their first District championship.

There will be a info meeting for students interested in trying out for the swim team on October 29th at West Mesa Aquatic Center @ 3:30, and try-outs will begin November 1st @ 3:30 at West Mesa Aquatic Center.
