Congratulations to this week's students that were recognized for demonstrating the core values of our school Safety, Organization, Achievement and Respect. Way to SOAR! Also, remember you can turn in SOAR cards for merchandise every Friday at the SOAR store in H Hall near DECA Store. This week's winners receive Hawk Spirit Wear. Administrators will be coming around this week before or at the end of classes to recognize students that received a 3.5 GPA or Higher this past 6 week grading period. Congratulations to the 30% of the students at VVHS that will be receiving one of these certificates.Keep up the good work and we challenge all students to achieve at this level.
Class of 2014: We will have a meeting in Mrs. Wells room Wednesday during lunch.
Class of 2015: We will have a meeting in Mr. Christenson's room Wednesday during lunch.
PSAT testing is this Wednesday 10/17. Juniors who have signed up should report directly to the lecture hall, sophomores please locate your testing location through your English teacher or on the signs posted in the hallway and report to that location by 7:30 on Wednesday.
National Honor Society: The money for your car wash tickets is due to Mrs. Jones in E203 by Monday, October 22nd. This is also the date of our next mandatory meeting. Juniors meet in E203 and Seniors meet in H209 at lunch on Monday, October 22nd. We will be finalizing assigned times for the car wash and for the next tutoring block. This meeting on Monday, October 22nd is mandatory.
BOWLING: Paperwork to register the team needs to get done this week. If you have not turned your paperwork in make sure you bring it to practice this week. Also Coach Hampel needs all shirt sizes for ordering the team bowling shirts by Friday night. If you miss this opportunity to order you will likely see a significant cost increase after Friday. If you are joining the bowling team after your fall activity - you still need to order your shirt by Friday. You can contact Mrs. Hampel Room E209 to get a message to the coach.
Taking Flight Productions Presents Euripides' Medea on November 2nd and 3rd at 7pm in the PAC. Tickets are $6.00 for students and staff, $10.00 for adults and $3.00 for thespians and children. Invite your friends and family to support the wonderful works of Veronica Velasquez, Matt Richards, Eva Rivera, Sam Elliott and many more!
ATHLETICS:
Congratulations to the boys golf team for winning the Valley/Rio Grande Invitational. Josh Marquez won the event shooting a 74. Way to go Hawks!
Today:
- Volleyball will play Rio Rancho at 6:30 in the Ring of Fire.
Wednesday:
- Girls soccer will play Cibola here at our field at 3.
- Boys soccer will play Cibola at 6:30 at the soccer complex.
