Re: [Geology2] An Accurate Way of Predicting Landslides

I am not too worried about the few rattlers I have seen - I am much more worried about all the ones I have NOT seen!  Actually, in the 50 years I have actively been geologizing, I have seen only two rattlers.  OTOH, these days I am much too decrepit to be a field geologist, so snakes and scorpions are no longer a menace!  Chair legs, though, are - I am nursing a broken toe from an impact with one!

Yes, Kenneth, the "shoals" of Muscle Shoals, Alabama are composed of layered limestone bedding. It's really beautiful, too. But if you wander around in the nearby woods, looking for those beautiful darters that populate those crystal running creeks, watch out for rattlers. They're really healthy. :-)
