CA-SRF-Corral Complex: 11,924 acres, 49% contained.Expected containment 09/15/2013. Pincha-Tulley CAIIMT-3/Mendes, Unified Command. The fire was smoldering and creeping with rolling material still a concern. The fire was most active in the southern portion. Open flame observed from heavy dead logs within the interior. The Corral, Patterson, Trail and Swamps fires have burned into one fire. As result, they have been removed from the Complex acres breakdown. Planning is currently under way to use fixed wing aircraft for water drops in the wilderness area to increase safety to Firefighters and helicopters.

CA-KNF-Forks Complex: 35,892 acres, 45% contained. Expected containment 09/15/2013. NORCAL 2, IMT2 (Johnson). Smoldering and creeping continues in isolated fuel accumulations. Interior fire activity consists of low intensity surface fires that are burning through available fuels well inside containment areas. Monitoring of fire activity in the Granite, Butler and Nordheimer Creeks continues. Smoke levels have significantly diminished and fire behavior is expected to remain minimal due to increased fine fuel moistures due to cloud cover and higher humidity. Fire suppression repair is being implemented over the fire area. Mop up to 300 feet, patrol, and monitoring of fire spread in all divisions continued until completion of the swing shift resources at 0000 hrs. There will not be a swing or night shift.

[Volcano_Vista_HS] Hawk Closet Donation Request

Volcano Vista High School Community: Do you have gently used clothing that you are not using and is piling up? The Hawk Closet is in need of donations--As always we appreciate your support!

Clothing should follow APS/VVHS dress standards. We would like gently-used pants, jeans, shorts, belts, shirts, shoes, sweat shirts, jackets, coats. We also need socks and underwear/garments (must be new).

We have a bunch of women's small clothing and a small amount of medium sizes. We need more women/teen clothing in medium, large, and XL (please no small women's clothing at this time).

We have a lot of teen/men's clothing in medium sizes and are collecting used clothing in small, large, and XL sizes.

With Homecoming coming up, we are also accepting dresses for young women and dress slacks, ties, and dress shirts for young men.

We also will accept financial donations to purchase undergarments. Please make checks payable to: VVHS Parent Advisory. Write HAWK CLOSET on the "for" line.

Fire Update

Line construction combined with burning operations continued overnight where safe conditions and accessibility allowed on the east and southeast flanks of the fire. There has been good progress made on the spot fires occurring near Pilot Peak and along the southern perimeter. Fire activity continues to be active in the south and southeast with moderate rates of spread and torching. Today winds will be coming from the south southwest with up to 20mph gusts. Fire activity has been slow and moderate in the north end of the fire. Today's fire weather is extreme. Very active fire and extensive spotting continues to hamper suppression efforts and pose risks to firefighters. Air resources continue to be utilized in assistance with spot fires, slowing fire advancement, and control lines in advance of the fire spread.

Park and Forest Closures

Yosemite National Park has closed Tamarack Flat and Yosemite Creek Campgrounds, both located along Tioga Road. White Wolf Campground and White Wolf Lodge remain closed. The Stanislaus National Forest has issued an area closure for the entire Groveland Ranger District and for the Mi-Wok Ranger District east of Highway 108. Road Closures

Highway 120 remains closed from Buck Meadows to 1 ½ miles east of White Wolf. Highway 120 east/Tioga Road remains open from 1 ½ miles east of White Wolf to the Tioga Pass entrance. Cherry Lake Road is closed at Highway 120. Evergreen Road and Old Yosemite Road are also closed. Highway 120 from Ferretti Road to Buck Meadows remains open for local residents and businesses only.

Evacuations and Advisories

There are currently no mandatory or advisory evacuation orders effective in Mariposa County. An evacuation advisory remains in effect for Ponderosa Hills and areas east, along the south side of Highway 108 up to Pinecrest. Highway 120 at the Yosemite National Park boundary west to Buck Meadows has been evacuated. Evacuation centers are at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora and at the Greeley Hill Community Center.

09/02/2013	0630	CA-SRF Corral Complex: 11,924 acres, 42% contained. Joseph/Mendes, Unified Command The fire creeping and backing fire was observed with some open flame in the heavier ground fuels. There was minimal fire spread. Relative humidity remains low enough for the fire to remain active, but too high for burning operations to create a clean burn. CIIMT-3 (Pincha-Tulley ICT1) assumed command of the incident at 0600 today. CA-KNF Forks Complex: 36,146 acres, 45% contained. Johnson, NORCAL 2. In Branch I, resources will continue to patrol and monitor fire behavior. Mop up to an optimal 300 feet will continue in parts of the fire where firefighter safety is not jeopardized. Along the Salmon River corridor resources will patrol and mop up in areas they can safely access. Crews will continue to locate and contain hotspots in Nordheimer Creek. Suppression repair and assessments will continue. Lower temperatures and much cooler conditions are predicted across the fire tomorrow. Fire behavior is expected to remain minimal. Significant progress is being accomplished toward suppression repair.
09/01/2013	1745	CA-SRF Corral Complex: 11,924 acres, 38% contained. The fire exhibited creeping, backing, and isolated short uphill runs from material roll-out. The fire was most active on the southern portion of the fire. There was some open flame observed in the Horse Linto Creek area. Air attack coordinated with personnel on the ground to keep the fire in check.With the limited fire activity, hand crews were able to make significant progress on the direct and indirect containment lines.CIIMT-5 (Joseph ICT1) times out today (9/1). CIIMT-3 (Pincha-Tulley ICT1) shadowed today and will assume command at 0600 tomorrow. CA-KNF Forks Complex: 36,146 acres, 45% contained. Smoldering and creeping continues in isolated fuel accumulations. Interior pockets of vegetation will continue to burn. Low intensity fire continues to back in Granite Creek (Butler). Substantial overnight humidity recoveries decreased fire activity and shortened burn period.
