Date | Time | News and Notes |
10/02/2010 | 0720 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 7 fires for 3 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, ( there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report). Lightning was recorded in the GACC yesterday, about 30 strikes in the ENF/TNF/TMU area. At this time there are no reported fires as a result of the lightning. Fuels are dry throughout the region. 1000 hour fuels are calculated at or below 14 percent except for the North Coast PSA. BI is averaged at 54 for the GAC. Ignition component averaged across the GACC is 48. Increased thunderstorm chances across the Sierra, especially Saturday into early Sunday. Most thunderstorms should be wet...especially south of I-80. A drier low from Alaska will clear things out later Sunday, but will also bring stronger WSW winds. In the long range...significant offshore winds are possible early next week. |
