10/21/2010 | 0700 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 23 fires for 14 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, (there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report). There will be at least three weather systems affecting North Ops over the next few days, but the first two will be weakened a lot as they move onto the West coast, and will have limited moisture coverage. Expect south to SW gradient winds to redevelop over the Area, becoming moderate to locally strong on Saturday. The first storm that looks wet over a large share of the Area is forecast to come in from between late Saturday in the northwestern sections to midday Sunday in eastern areas. It could bring wetting rain to about 2/3rds of the Area, with locally heavy precip in the northwest. Other systems on tap are a weak one currently timed for about next Tuesday and a large wetter and cooler one late next week. |
