Video: Lightning strikes near burning tree

Lightning strikes kept Fullerton residents enthralled early Friday during a brief storm that knocked out power and set some trees burning.

Dionney Reyes of Fullerton caught on video a jagged bolt of lightning that strikes close to a burning palm tree. In the short clip, bystanders react loudly as Mother Nature puts on her show.

The lightning strikes caused flickering lights and power outages in other cities, too, including Garden Grove, Yorba Linda, Westminster and Brea, a Southern California Edison spokeswoman said, while power lines were down after being hit by lightning in Carbon Canyon Park in Brea.
